Device42 Integration with Carbonite Migrate

Device42 Integration with Carbonite Migrate

Carbonite Migrate enables organizations to migrate physical, virtual, and cloud workloads to and from any environment with almost no downtime. Device42 version 16.22 features Carbonite Migrate integration. This means that a user or system administrator can access Carbonite Migrate directly from within the Device42 web console as one unified point of usage control.

What’s Needed

  1. Carbonite Migrate software with a valid license must be installed on both the source and target servers..
  2. Device42 version 16.22 (or subsequent release) with source and target servers discovered.
  3. Initially, this integration is only available for Microsoft Windows machines.

How It Works

Log in to your Device42 appliance. Next, click on the Tools menu and select Migration Jobs under the MIgrations sub-heading.

From the Migration Jobs page, users can view or create jobs. Click the Add Migration Job button to select the source and target server destinations from within Device42.

After filling out the required information, verify the job. When it has completed successfully, save the job.

Now that the job is saved, it will appear in the Migration Job view. From here, users control the job with options to Start, Pause, Stop, or Failover. See the activity from the Migration Job view and use the Refresh Status option to get the current activity of the migration job.
